This photo, recently posted to Flickr, has been getting quite a bit of attention on the “Mogols Armed With our Parents Income” blog, as a flickr photo of the day.
The Hodare Penis festival, which occurred March 12th this year, celebrates the fertility of the land and the farmer with the symbol of a gigantic penis.
The odd thing about the poster itself is that there are only pictures of foreigners riding the gigantic wooden dong; which is something that even MAWOPI has yet to explain. Hopefully we’ll get some sort of resolution.

Hey Ian. My friend in Aichi has photos of the actual festival and some more white people with the giant wooden penis. (At least I think it’s the same one…how many festivals have wooden penises in them in Japan?)
