For those of you who haven’t quite had enough of me after watching Episode 52 of Dai-Cast, or need more during those long couple of weeks until we get started on Season 2, here’s something to tide you over.

Back near the beginning of the month, I appeared on the Adult Space Child Free Podcast episode 39, hosted by friend of the show Chris Fisher.

If you’re interested in the whys and hows of my, and Chris’ decision not to have children, you may find this an interesting listen. Chris is taking great strides to promote the child free lifestyle to the world, and I salute her great efforts. And whether you agree with her stand or not, it’s an interesting, well informed, and well produced podcast all around.

Brokeback Ian: Dai-Cast EP 052 Delayed

So by now you all should have noticed that the Dai-Cast Episode 52 Spectacular hasn’t been released for consumption. Well, there’s a reason for that, and a very NON-technical one at that.

You see, I am currently unable to access my keyboard for extended periods of time, due to debilitating back pain. Oddly enough, it seems to be something that hits me every February, or at least these past 3 years. Impending Oscar announcements, stress in the workplace, Valentines Day, sunspots? Who knows what the cause is, the result is the same…

So Dai-Cast is going to take another week off to let this clear itself up, and hopefully get the necessary editing and compositing done to keep you, the viewing public, happy.

I wish I could quit you…

Jack Tompson + Phoenix Wright = Redemption

We should all by now be familiar with the antics of one Jack Thompson, and his personal crusade against the video gaming industry. And while I’m not sure that I’m the first person to suggest this unholy union, but hear me out. Given the combination of the impending release of Phoenix Wright 2: And Justice for All and the fact that Jack Thompson is an (asshole) lawyer be a combination made in one of the two possible afterlives? (heaven/hell for you non Christians)

The DS sequel to the smash/cult hit Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney is already being promoted in Japan by a famous lawyer. [see Dai-Cast Ep 33] If Jack wants to redeem his position amongst gamers, theoretically all he would need to do is throw his weight behind Phoenix. I don’t see why he’d object; while Phoenix Wright does often have a young women in his employ as an assistant, he doesn’t seem to be known for slapping his “bitches” around. Nor is he known for his proclivity for ‘jacking’ cars; in fact, it seems that his main mode of transportation is foot. And in terms of weaponry, Phoenix only uses the fact, something that Jack has been trying to use ineffectively for more than a year.

What say you Jack? Let’s see you do something good for a change!
